Good afternoon. It's Garrett with Alphamdee. I'm here to talk to you about some hormones, but not the usual hormones, we're talking about like testosterone. Today we're gonna be talking about the alternatives known as Sarms, so you probably heard of Sarms, but to reiterate, what they are basically. They're selective androgen receptor modulators, sarm not to be confused with serms, that selective estrogen receptor modulators. Psalms are an alternative for TRT. It's important to mention that they are not USDA.

Garrett Soames:  Approved. So they are out there in the market. They you will see them being able to be purchased online, but we do get a lot of questions about them. So essentially we're going to be doing a series of posts regarding what they are, what they do and their purpose. So we're gonna be talking about Sarms In addition. We're going to also be doing a video series on peptide hormones. Peptide Hormones. I'm sure you're well, aware of. If you've done any online research regarding TRT, they're often used as adjuncts for TRT. They are separate set of hormones.

Garrett Soames:  Typically used in longevity care bodybuilding, or again, people who are just looking to feel better. So we're gonna do a brief breakdown of what they are and then subsequent videos we're gonna really dive in and focus on each individual. Sarm and peptide hormone. so, what are Psalms again? Like I said, they're selective androgen receptor modulators. They were originally created in an effort to come up with an alternative to testosterone in particular. During the time when testosterone was a little more controversial, they wanted an alternative for it. And so basically, they created This class of medications, they came up with several different.

Garrett Soames:  Options that are available. The goal was to give essentially TRT, without any of the potential side effects or potential risks, back when they were created their work considerable considerably more risks with TRT only because we didn't have The research to prove that actually testosterone is safe. So back when we thought it caused prostate cancer back, when we thought it caused heart attacks back when we thought it caused a myriad of other problems. Sarms, were the avenue that were the pharmaceutical agencies, were pursuing as the alternative? Ultimately they are a little more unique those that do exist out there. There are some benefits to them and they do have basically all of the benefits of TRT.

Garrett Soames:  And interestingly, because they're not testosterone, they differ a bit in their mechanism of action. In particular, you won't see aromatization of any of these products. They do not convert into estrogen, and there is no five alpha reduction, so they don't convert into DHT either. So that is certainly a mechanism that is unique to these as opposed to TRT. One, you may have heard of is known as Austrian. Austrian it increases testosterone levels. It has been found that it suppresses FSH and LH exactly the same as TRT. So that was kind of a disappointment because the goal was let's find something that attaches to the androgen interceptors, but doesn't affect anything else. Then sure enough it affected, everything else.

Garrett Soames:  There are other ones that were created as well, which it ultimately it. It was found that Sarms have no additional benefit. Above and beyond what TRT provides.

Garrett Soames:  So with that, in mind TRT started becoming back in favor and they started doing more research again on TRT itself. So this alternative avenue It was not really further pursued and because the USDA did not approve of them. They stopped. Essentially production production of them. So, if you do find Any online. Just bear in mind. They are not approved in the United States of America. As far as I'm aware, they're not approved in Europe either.

Garrett Soames:  Again, just to reiterate, they are not SERMs selective. Estrogen receptor model modulators, those are approved. They are primarily again, produced to reduce. The effects of estrogen and certain tissues in the body. You've, we've certainly talked about them before in previous videos. You've certainly heard that the name Clomid before We've talked about that in several videos. That is a serum. Tamoxifen. We've mentioned in the past as well. That is also a certain This unique about serms again, as they they basically have different activities in different tissues in the body which is unique about this class of medications. So some, some of them actually will block

Garrett Soames:  Estrogen In certain tissues. And in other tissues, you can actually increase estrogen or act like estrogen. So when it attaches to the estrogen receptors and certain tissues, it blocks the actual estrogen from working Where's another tissues? Where it attaches. It actually activates, yes. so, there are some interesting uses for terms outside of breast cancer. And again, we can dive into those further. With different videos. And then, as we mentioned, we're going to be doing a series on peptide hormones. What are peptide hormones? The general term peptide hormone, Just means it's it's a protein based hormone. Technically.

Garrett Soames:  There's a lot of hormones. Any non any hormone that is not a steroid? Home? Hormone is a by definition of peptoid hormone. So insulin is a peptide hormone. Prolactin as a peptide hormone. Growth hormone is a peptide hormone so we're not going to be talking about those in our videos. We're specifically going to be discussing the peptide hormones that you can purchase online. This is an interesting class and that they are not FDA approved but they are not illegal, they are considered experimental medications. We at Alphamd, do not prescribe them because they cannot be prescribed. They can be recommended and that they can be helpful, but you will not find any pharmacy. That essentially produces them outside of and experimental.

Garrett Soames:  Or, you know, testing settings. So, we'll discuss them because we get a lot of questions about them. And again, they're often used in, as an adjunctive therapy to TRT again, some of the ones you've probably heard of, Like I Pam around BPC 157. Mk677. There's any other rounds. Any of those are are out there and there's quite a few. And so they're pretty popular in the bodybuilding community especially now that HGH is really hard to get and when you can get it, it is prohibitively expensive. so, a lot of these Peptide hormones, increase your natural production of.

Garrett Soames:  The growth factors IGF-1. And again again your actual natural production of human growth hormone. So, we'll discuss those. And we'll kind of dive in a little further in our next videos. And otherwise we're going to be doing an AMA. And we, if you have any questions specific to any of these, please feel free to give us those questions so we can dive in a little deeper to help make sure that You know, you're fully informed.
